God is Holy and every human on Earth has sinned against God by breaking His laws. God's Law (His Ten Commandments) give us the knowledge what God calls sin. Just being good, religious, spiritual, or self-willed does not qualify you for God's Heaven. Hell is not a punishment; Hell is the final verdict and the final destination for those who rejected God's Living Word -- Jesus. The eternal judgment of Hell reminds us that God is Just and Holy, and will not accept man's rebellion and evil nature inside His Heaven. The eternal reward of Heaven reminds us that God is Gracious and Merciful, and will only accept those into His Heaven that He has paid for.
God is called Lord because He is Creator and Owner of the universe and everything within it. God is not the author or owner of sin, death, evil, wickedness, rebellion, chaos, selfishness, and pride. In fact He won't have any of it in His Heaven. God will not accept anything to Himself that is against Him because He is Holy (pure, set apart, Uncommon). All that are opposed to God are condemned already for a judgment to come. And God is too authentic to allow a person to approach Him in just any old way they want. There is protocol. You must follow God's chain of command.
Jesus is called Lord because he is God and He is the Owner of all who have surrendered the title and deed of their life over to Him. When Jesus told us: "Repent, the Kingdom of God has Arrived!" in Matthew 4:17 it was not a suggestion; it's the command of the King. Therefore if you obey His command to repent, (which means to change one's mind about sinning and renounce a lifestyle of defiance against God), you will be forgiven and cleansed by God.
God used the Christ's physical body as a sponge two two ways. Christ's body absorbed every single sin committed (past, present, and future) by those who have confessed Jesus as their Lord (Owner) and believed in their heart that God has raised him from the dead. Christ's body also absorbed and bore the full Holy wrath of God's judgment that all of us deserved. When Christ's body died on the cross, every sin you committed and the eternal judgment that you deserved died with it once you place the weight of your life on Jesus. The human problem of sin is an eternal debt, and we must use God's solution which is an Eternal Payment. If Jesus Christ does not pay for your sin then you are on your own to pay them forever.
"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
(2 Corinthians 5:21)
Your Heavenly Father loved you so much that He gave you His One and Only Son as the necessary payment to purchase you out of slavery to sin and death. The reason why Jesus Christ is the only one who can make us righteous before God's eyes is because Jesus Christ was born without sin and never sinned. Jesus was 100% sinless, Son of the Living God. He was God from God, true God from True God. Before he was born physically and started His earthly ministry, Jesus was called "THE WORD OF GOD." He was at the beginning with God. He proceeded from the Father. When Jesus died He took away all their crimes against God. Jesus rose from the dead give His people a new life from God. There's only one God and there is only one way for sinful humans to be on good terms with with their Creator.
That's why Jesus Christ is the ONLY one who can make us acceptable before the Holy God, and He is the only one who can make us fit for God's Heaven. Sinless Jesus identified with our humanity, so that those who are identified with Him, will be identified as belonging to God. God owns all those who have accepted the payment of Jesus Christ's death on the Cross. You see ... even God does not steal. He will only take people to His heaven that belong to Him.
You cannot have a relationship with God on your own terms. Jesus did not come to bring us a religion; He came to give us a KINGDOM. 17 "for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but Righteousness and Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:17).
God's original intent was for you to be in Right fellowship with God, know His Peace, and experience His Joy in your heart. And there's only One God and there is only one way for sinful humans to approach Him. We must first Repent. Acknowledge your wrong doing. Turn around. Forsake the things that displease God. And receive God's free gift. God sent His Word to this earth and clothed it a 100% human body. God became one of us and His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus is God's Salvation. Today, humbly ask God for Mercy. The Lord God is so real that He Himself will reveal Himself to you through Jesus' Name. Why?... because God really loves you.
